Why Tapisco Should Be on Every Lisbon Foodie’s List
There was one restaurant in Lisbon that was better than all the rest, and that was Tapisco. This restaurant was incredible and I’m so glad I made the trek out to it. Shout out to Ben for the recommendation!
It was almost a mile from my hotel, so I decided to walk. The walk was really great but there were a lot of stairs involved. Luckily, once I got to the top of the hill, I was greeted with the wonderful view from Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara.

My reservation was for a seat at the counter, which was great because they have an open kitchen and I was able to watch the chefs prepared my meal for me. I love that! I also love the decor of the restaurant – the copper aesthetic is a v nice touch👌
The service was very good. The waiter helped me with the menu and helped me map out the correct courses for this meal. I got both sparkling and still water, then ordered my food. Here we go 😊

Octopus Salad (Appetizer)

For my appetizer, I ordered the octopus salad with a vinaigrette and smoked paprika. This was delicious! The octopus was perfectly cooked and cut into bite size pieces alongside bite size squares of potato. The smoked paprika was not too over powering and the dish was overall very light.
I really liked this salad and would give it a score of 8.6 out of 10. Great way to start off the meal! And, of course, I slayed it ☺️

Duck Rice (Main)

For my main course, I had the duck rice with black pork sausage and parsley alioli, and it was just divine. There was a perfect marriage of the soft duck, rice and sausage that was all brought together by the freshness of the parsley alioli! Delicioso! This dish reminded me of a risotto but this was less creamy than a traditional risotto. The rice was almost al dente and had a slight chew to it.
Overall, the duck rice was very delicious and I would give it a score of 8.8 out of 10. The two dishes weren’t overly filling, so I did have some room for dessert ☺️

Caramel Port Flan (Dessert)

This was a very interesting flan to me as it was much more firm than I am used to. The flavor was really good and there were notes of port wine. It came with a scoop of tangerine sorbet that sat on top of a sweet oat crumble, and that mixed with the flan was quit amazing. I savored every single bite of this one 😋
This dessert was so original and delicious that I would give it a score of 9.2 out of ten. I thoroughly enjoyed this dessert and that was a great way to cap off this meal. Probably would be even better enjoyed with some port wine but wasn’t drinking that evening.

Conclusion
My conclusion is you (the reader) should stop reading this right now, get a reservation at Tapisco and then book a flight to Lisbon. Make sure you secure the reservation before booking your flight! Haha but all jokes aside, this is an amazing restaurant and if you are going to be in Lisbon anytime soon, I highly recommend you check it out! That is all. Thanks for reading! See you next time! ☺️
